Jennie Lake is located in Meeker County, five miles south of the city of Dassel, Minnesota. Jennie Lake is in the upper two percent of lakes in the state in terms of size (1,056 acres). It is a very shallow lake with a mean depth of about 8.5 feet and a maximum depth of 14 feet. Jennie Lake has a volume of approximately 9,000 acre-feet. Jennie Lake's watershed is large at about 17 square miles including the lake's surface area. Several smaller lakes are located in the watershed, Todd, Hook, Echo, Emily,Spencer, Loughman, O'Mera, Belden and Little Wolf Lake. Land use in the watershed is predominantly characterized by cultivated (66 percent) and water and marsh (23 percent) uses. The amount of land in forest, pasture and open and urban uses is lower, when compared to the typical range of watershed land uses for lakes in this region of the state. This region" is referred to as the North Central Hardwood Forest Ecoregion (NCHF). Animal feedlots are present in the watershed.
