2015 Nutrient Management Initiative Results - Statewide

Document
Description
The Nutrient Management Initiative (MDA) was developed in 2006 by the Minnesota Department of Agriculture (MDA) to assist farmers and crop advisers in evaluating nutrient management rate decisions on their own farms. After losing NRCS program funding in 2013, the NMI we reintroduced in 2015 with funding from the MDA and included more options for on-farm trials including nitrrogen rate, timing, stabilizer, and source evaluations. A total of 89 farmers worked with 39 crop advisers statewide to establish 166 on-farm trials geared towards improving nitrogen efficiencies on their own farms.
