Description
The Nutrient Management Initiative (NMI) is designed to help producers and crop consultants evaluate nutrient management decisions using the farmer's actual field conditions. Nutrient comparisons help farmers fine-tune the last 15-20% of their application rates to maximize economic outcomes and reduce nutrient losses to the environment. Approximately 25-30% of the total input costs to produce a corn crop can go for nutrient applications. This can be equivalent to 50 bu/A of corn to pay for nutrient costs. THis report summarizes the results for the 2012 growing season.
