Shell Rock River Juglans Woods AMA Geomorphological Assessment

In August 2014, Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (MNDNR) specialists from the Ecological and Water Resources (EWR) Division were contacted by the MNDNR Fisheries Division to perform a geomorphology survey at the future site of the Juglans Woods Aquatic Management Area (AMA) on the Shell Rock River. The main goal of the survey was to collect baseline dimension, pattern, and profile data representative of the reach in order to make sound recommendations for potential restoration opportunities. An initial site reconnaissance was performed with EWR, Fisheries, and AMA specialists on August 25th, 2014 followed by a site survey on September 25th, 2014. The following report discusses the findings of these two site visits.
