Description
The Hawk/Yellow Medicine River 8-digit Hydrologic Unit Code (HUC) major watershed, bisected by the Minnesota River, is comprised of two significant watersheds that do not have a hydrological connection and enter the MN River from opposite sides. The Hawk Creek and several smaller streams enter the MN River from the north and the Yellow Medicine River and several more streams enter the MN River from the South. The political management of the watersheds is also unique with a watershed district to the south and watershed project to the north as well as areas that are not part of any watershed management organization.
