Final report: Gulf Hypoxia and local water quality concerns workshop

The Upper Mississippi River Sub-basin Hypoxia Nutrient Committee is very pleased to have been able to sponsor the Gulf Hypoxia and Local Water Quality Concerns Workshop. We thank the workshop steering committee and each of the speakers and panelists who through their efforts and expertise contributed so much to the success of the workshop. The committee appreciates the financial contributions of our co-sponsors: the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, Iowa State University; the US Environmental Protection Agency; and the USDA Agricultural Research Service. We especially thank Dr. James Baker, Professor Emeritus of the Department of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering at Iowa State University, for bringing together such a distinguished group of researchers to aid in identifying the most effective ways to reduce nutrient losses from agricultural land in the Corn Belt.
