National Lakes Assessment 2012 Lake specific reports: Northeastern Minnesota Lakes (Cook, Lake, and St. Louis Counties)

This brief report summarizes results for those northeastern Minnesota lakes selected for U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) NLA project. The MPCA sampled the following lakes with significant assistance and support from our partners including - Minnesota Department of Natural Resources- Fisheries, Superior National Forest, and Voyageur's National Park. The sampling, which included many lakes in remote areas, such as the Boundary Waters Canoe Area (BWCA)Wilderness, would not have been possible without their assistance. The MPCA greatly appreciates the on-going partnerships we have developed through this effort. This report will provide a brief overview of the NLA Study, general conclusions applicable to NLA lakes within Northeast Minnesota, followed by brief write-ups for each individual lake shown below.
