Cloquet River Watershed Stressor Identification Report

Document
Description
The Cloquet River Watershed is located in northeastern Minnesota between the North Shore of Lake Superior and the Iron Range. A relatively undeveloped watershed, the Cloquet River basin contains many high quality streams, rivers, and lakes that sustain a diverse array of sensitive aquatic life. Despite predominantly healthy watersheds in this region, portions of two streams were classified as "impaired" based on degraded fish and aquatic macroinvertebrate communities. Intensive water quality and biological data were collected in the Cloquet River Watershed by the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) and partners in 2015 and 2016. This report summarizes the follow-up "Stressor Identification" monitoring completed in these priority watersheds with the goal of informing the Watershed Restoration and Protection Strategy (WRAPS) effort for the Cloquet River Watershed.
