This report summarizes information about drinking water and wastewater infrastructure needs in Minnesota. Drinking water infrastructure - The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) estimates in the next 20 years more than $6 billion will be needed to improve drinking water systems throughout Minnesota. Wastewater infrastructure - The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) estimates in the next 20 years more than $4.5 billion will be needed to improve public wastewater systems, and more than $1.2 billion to upgrade and maintain individual wastewater systems.
