Reference Lake and Trend Monitoring Summary for Sherburne County, Minnesota

Document
Description
During the summer of 1998 the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) monitored five lakes in Sherburne County as a part of our Reference and Trend Lake monitoring efforts. This monitoring effort is intended to supplement and complement data gathered through the Citizen Lake Monitoring Program (CLMP), Lake Assessment Program (LAP), and Clean Water Partnership (CWP) Program. The intent of this lake sampling effort is to: provide baseline water quality data, provide data for potential LAP and CWP lakes, characterize lake conditions in different regions of the state, examine year-to-year variability in ecoregion-reference lakes, respond to citizen concerns, and provide additional trophic status data for lakes exhibiting trends in Secchi transparency. In the latter case, we attempt to determine if the trends in Secchi transparency are real
