Description
Pike Lake was sampled during the summer of 1993 as part of the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency's (MPCA) Lake Assessment Program. Data collected during the study period showed that in terms of total phosphorus, chlorophyll and Secchi disk transparency, the water quality of Pike Lake is equal to or better than minimally impacted (reference) lakes in the ecoregion. Mean summer concentrations are as follows: total phosphorus 15.7 ug/l, chlorophyll-a 5.1 ug/l and mean Secchi disk transparency was 4 meters. Based on these water quality values Pike Lake would be considered mesotrophic.
