Description
The slender madtom (Noturus exilis), crystal darter (Ammocrypta asprella), and bluntnose darter (Etheostoma chlorosomum) have a very limited distribution and are extremely rare in Minnesota. Stream surveys conducted in 1990 failed to produce new records from Minnesota waters, however, the slender madtom was collected in Iowa near the state line.
