Eagle Lake 18-0296-00 Lake Water Quality

Document
Description
Eagle Lake is located 5 miles west of Emily, MN in Crow Wing County. It is a lake with three bays covering 350 acres (Table 1). Eagle Lake has two inlets and one outlet, which classify it as a drainage lake. The main inlet enters the lake on the north from Mitchell Lake. Daggett Brook and Crooked Creek (from Roosevelt Lake) flow into Mitchell Lake. Daggett Creek exits Eagle Lake to the south and flows through a couple lakes until it empties into Cross Lake. From there the Pine River flows south and joins the Mississippi River. Water quality data have been collected on Eagle Lake from 1996-2014 (Tables 2 & 3). These data show that the lake is mesotrophic (TSI = 47) with moderately clear water conditions most of the summer and excellent recreational opportunities. Eagle Lake is part of the Fifty Lakes Property Owners Association, which is involved in water quality monitoring, education, lakeshore restoration, and lake management planning.
