Shingle Creek, an I I-mile urban/suburban stream located in the northwestern portion of the Minneapolis metropolitan region, vvas designated an Impaired Water by the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) and US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for chloride concentrations that exceed the State established standards, The Shingle Creek Watershed Management Commission (SCWMC) has complete<! a Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL) analysis to quantify the pollutant reductions needed to meet the water qualify standards for chloride in Shingle Creek, in accordance with Section 303(d) of the Clean Water Act The TMDL was prepared in cooperation with the nine cities with land located in the Shingle Creek watershed as well as Hennepin County and the Minnesota Department of Transportation (Mn/DOT),
