Description
The scope of work for this study is to develop consistent hydrologic models for various Red River tributary watersheds that contribute above the Red River of the North at Halstad, MN. The USACE Hydrologic Engineering Center (HEC) HEC-HMS (v3.5) model has been selected as the preferred method for modeling throughout the Red River Basin (RRB). The current state of the existing tributary hydrology models predating this report is quite varied. Some watershed models developed in recent years are quite detailed and were built using HECHMS. Some models were developed a number of years ago using HEC-1. Still, others do not have any hydrology models constructed at all. There is little uniformity in the existing models. They have been built and calibrated for different historic and/or synthetic events. They were constructed for the main use of analyzing runoff in their own tributaries.
